WWII & Historical

96 products

WWII and historical figures organised by army and era rather than thrown together, because period accuracy is the whole point of a historical display. Soviet, German and American infantry, military police, officers, and Civil War Union and Confederate figures. All compatible with major brick brands.

What is in this collection

WWII Soviet. Red Army infantry, winter and field forces, elite infantry and combat soldiers.

WWII German. Wehrmacht infantry, command officers, winter variants.

WWII Allied and mixed. American infantry, military police, Allied and Axis multi-nation sets for building both sides of a scene.

Civil War. Union and Confederate infantry with rifles, backpacks and period gear, including the 4th Texas Infantry.

Getting the period right

This is the part that separates a historical display from a green-figures display, and it is mostly about kit rather than uniforms.

Weapons belong to theatres, not just to wars. The same war fought in two places used different rifles. Our theatre-by-theatre weapons breakdown covers which loadouts belong where, and Pacific versus European theatre uniforms covers the uniform differences that are visible at minifigure scale.

Mixed-era gear breaks a scene instantly for anyone who knows the period, and those are exactly the people who look closely at a historical display. One wrong helmet undoes a lot of careful work.

Build both sides. A single-army display is a shelf. Two armies facing each other is a scene with a reason. The multi-nation sets exist for this.

What to check before buying

Printing, not stickers. Insignia and uniform detail should be pad-printed into the plastic. A sticker on a WWII torso lifts at the edges and takes the insignia with it.

Print registration. Check that the torso printing lines up with the arms and the belt line. Misregistration is the clearest tell of a cheap run and it is very visible on uniform detail.

Clutch. Press the figure onto a plate, tilt, lift with two fingers. It should hold on the tilt and release on the lift.

Put them in a period setting with build kits, which include ruined houses, coastal bunkers and blockhouses, add military accessories for era-correct kit, and see the military by era guides hub. Suitable for young builders and adult collectors alike.
