Aircraft

Brick-built aircraft for display shelves and dioramas. This is a small, focused collection: a minifigure-scale propeller plane set in three color options, sitting alongside the parts and guides you need to build something with a bigger wingspan yourself.

What is here

  • Ultimate Mini Propeller Aircraft. A compact propeller plane offered in green, yellow and blue. It is built to minifigure scale, so it reads correctly parked next to a pilot figure instead of dwarfing the scene.

How to build a scene around it

  • Scale before size. A minifigure-scale plane next to minifigure-scale crew looks like a photograph. An oversized display model next to the same figures looks like two different hobbies on one shelf.
  • This is a scene prop, not a centerpiece. If you want the aircraft to be the thing people look at, build it: plates, slopes and wedge pieces from bulk bricks buy you a wingspan no small set can.
  • Budget for crew. Pilots and ground crew are sold separately across the store, so plan on two or three figures per aircraft.
  • Ground the plane. A baseplate, a strip of runway and two crew figures do more for a display shelf than buying a second plane. An aircraft with nothing underneath it looks like it is falling.
  • Pick the color for the shelf it lands on. Yellow and blue hold their shape against a dark background, green disappears into one. Decide where it is going before you decide which one you want.
