Military Police Minifigures: Roles, Gear & Sets
Military police scenes are some of the most flexible builds you can make: checkpoints, base gates, convoy escorts, crowd control. They also need a different cast from a combat squad. This guide covers the roles, the gear that sells the look, and the sets in our range that fit best.
The short answer
We do not sell a set labelled military police, so the closest options are our SWAT and police sets. For a first build, the SWAT Police Mega Set, 20 Figures ($33.99) is the best fit: it includes four shields and two K9s, which are the two things that make a checkpoint or crowd-control scene read correctly. Other options are the SWAT Police Set, 12 Figures ($29.99) and the SWAT Police Set, 18 Soldiers ($24.99). Check each page for availability.
The roles a police scene needs
- Gate or checkpoint guard. One or two figures standing still. The anchor of the scene.
- Patrol. A pair of figures walking a perimeter.
- Shield line. Figures with shields side by side, the visual signature of crowd control.
- K9 handler. A figure with an animal adds life and tells a story.
- Supervisor. A figure with a radio, set slightly apart from the others.
The gear that sells the look
Shields, radios, vests and helmets matter more than weapons here. A scene with four shields in a line looks like policing. A scene with twelve rifles looks like combat. Pick sets where the accessories include protective gear and tools, and keep weapons to a minimum.
Three scenes to build
- Base gate. Two guards, a barrier, a patrol and a supervisor. Small and quick to build.
- Convoy escort. Vehicles from vehicles with figures at front and rear.
- Crowd control. A shield line across the base, K9 handler at one end, supervisor behind.
For layout and scale, building the ultimate tactical scene covers the tactical side, and how to build a military diorama covers the base.
Budget
The Mega Set is $33.99 for 20 figures, about $1.70 per figure. The 18-figure set is $24.99, about $1.39 per figure. The 12-figure set is $29.99, about $2.50 per figure. If you want the lowest cost per figure, the 18-figure set wins. If you want shields and K9s, the Mega Set is the one.
Common mistakes
- Too many weapons. It turns a police scene into a battle scene.
- No supervisor. A group with no leader looks like a crowd.
- No barrier. A checkpoint needs something to check. Build the gate first.
