How to Make Custom Minifigure Decals - Brick Bros

Custom decals are how you add insignia, patches, logos, and fine detail that's impossible to paint by hand. They're the secret behind the sharpest custom minifigures. Here's how to make your own.

Design Your Decal

Create your artwork in any image editor at high resolution, sized to the tiny scale of a minifigure torso or helmet. Keep lines bold and details simple — very fine elements disappear at this size.

Print on Decal Paper

Print onto water-slide or clear adhesive decal paper made for your printer type (inkjet or laser). Seal inkjet prints with a clear coat so the ink doesn't run when wet.

Apply and Set

For water-slide decals, soak briefly, slide into place, and press out air bubbles. Let it dry, then seal the whole figure with a matte coat so the decal blends in and stays put.
