Twelve Swords Under One Banner
A full company of castle guards in blue and gold heraldic tabards, ready to hold the wall or march on the next keep.
The Story
The horn sounds from the gatehouse and twelve guards take their places along the wall. Their tabards carry the gold fleur-de-lis and the leaping dolphin of their lord, bright against the grey stone. Kettle hats up front, great helms at the gate, nasal helmets on the towers. Nobody talks. Every sword is drawn. Whatever is coming over the ridge will find the whole garrison waiting, shoulder to shoulder, and not one of them planning to step back.
